Roy is President of APD Life Sciences.  APD Life Sciences has a business focus on the critical role of early prototype/process development in the commercialization of basic research in the life sciences.  He attained leadership in membrane biophysics, cell function, and cell storage as recognized by his election as a Fellow in the Section on Chemistry of The American Association for the Advancement of Science.  Roy co-founded BioPore (products included those for analysis of blood)and directed its activities through 2001, assuming responsibilities in areas of scientific development, overall management, fundraising, recruitment of members of Board of Directors, negotiation of contracts with major biomedical and agricultural companies, engagement of investment banks and financial consultants, evaluating acquisition candidates, and overall business strategy.
